The award-winning Trio Palladio returns to Riga with their new programme. The trio members are internationally recognised soloists, avid chamber musicians and acclaimed recording artists. Trio Palladio’s distinctive approach juxtaposes the classical piano trio repertoire with contemporary works, especially from the Baltic region. Their new programme is no exception: three recent compositions, each representing a different Baltic state, will be heard alongside Viennese master Franz Schubert’s late First Trio. Schubert’s lyrical work was penned during his last year of life, therefore its overflowing joie de vivre speaks with great poignancy. 

The Baltic composers’ works use contemporary language, but their foundations are built on primeval cornerstones. Their soundworld expresses calm strength and some undefinable mystery.
